GMC mattress

1. For those who have replaced their rear dinette with a regulat mattress
does a standard full size mattress fit? I want to leave the "headboard"
cabinet as that is the place I leave my teeth glass and cigar butt. Or does
it take a "custom" size mattress? How do you get it in there, roll it up
tight?

Larry, a standard size mattress will fit. I use a standard size air
mattress, it is much easier to put in and take out than the conventional
mattress.

When we bought our coach it had a standard double bed mattress in the rear,
but it was a bear to make up. Hardly enough room to squeeze a hand around
the outside, much less bedding. We bought a custom size (IIRC about 2"
smaller in both directions) and are much happier with this set up. The
mattress cost was very reasonable, but it probably depends on whether
there's a mattress maker in the vicinity. Ours was made in Detroit, but I
also know of a company in Battle Creek that used to do a good job at
reasonable prices.

I was wondering about the AeroBed I see advertised all over. $100 for a full
and it has a builtin pump that inflates it in 60 sec or so at
www.frontgate.com . Has anyone tried this out yet? I see they have a HD
model for only $20 more. Comes w/a carrying case too. The infomercial shows
Sumo wrestlers on it so I guess it should hold up my lazy bones!
