It looks like I need to replace the wheel studs on the right front of my
Transmode. When I started to remove the wheel today one lug nut and
about 3/4 inch of stud fell off in my hand! I had checked before for
elongation or hour-glassing of the studs, but none seemed damaged. I've
always used a torque wrench to tighten the lug nuts, but as most know
its hard to get tire shops to be that careful.
Anyway, do I have to remove the hub from the coach and rotor from the
hub in order to install new studs? It looks tight between the two but I
plan to go back with the stock length studs (not the longer ones for
Alcoas) since I plan to keep running the OEM steel wheels. Are there
any "tricks" to getting the old studs out and the new ones in. Any
advice will be much apprecitated.
