I am presently rebuilding the front end of my 1976 palmbeach and need a
bearing puller for the front bearing assy. I have looked for bearing pulers
on the market but have only heard of the one presently sold by Winterfeldt.
I can not afford the $500 + that it would cost to buy one. I am
contemplating having a local machine shop make a number of GMC front bearing
pullers similar to the Winterfeldt one that is presently marketed. Are
there any other GMC'rs that would buy one if the price could be lowered to
less than $200 or so? Does anyone know where a resonably priced on is?
Also need a slide puller. Thanks for the help'

Check with Ken Thoma in Fredericksburg, Texas (830) 997-3690. His business
name is Ken's Service Center. He does hubs and knuckles. I understand he
makes a bearing puller that he sells.

Probably no need to start a new project making your own bearing pullers.
I met a guy at Vegas who had them for $250 plus shipping. His name is
Darcy Moses and is out of Rush City, MN and can be reached at (320)
358-3303. Good Luck.

Thom Hole:

Try NAPA.... They carry a set of pullers that have three arms that are
held on the bearing by an unique cage that fits externally over the
puller arms and keeps them from spreading and slipping over the bearing.
The mid size puller that works on our bearings was about $150.00. I
didn't buy it because the NAPA machine shop used the puller to pull my
bearings and charged me $40.00.
