I didn't care much for the interior layout of the FMC either, and yes, I'm
also in love with GMCs.
My wife was a little disappointed when she first saw "our" GMC down there at
the dealer, what didn't help was the SOB parked right next to it that was
bigger, newer, cleaner and cheaper - so we looked at a few other RVs
including the FMC, I finally convinced her that the GMC was what we wanted -
now she loves it!

Gents (& ladies)......

Regarding GMCs & FMCs....

I recall reading reviews in Trailer Life Magazine back in 1973 when they
were both produced. I liked the looks of the GMCs and remember
disliking the looks of the FMCs. I wondered why anyone would buy one.

Over the years I have seen many GMC's on the road but I have never
seen a FMC anywhere. I often wondered what happened to them.

Now that I have traded my truck and camper in on a GMC I watch
traffic a little more for motorhomes. I have not seen another GMC
yet (2 1/2 Months of looking) but will at Durango the end of the month.

Has anyone ever spotted an FMC on the Road? Just wondering......

Yup, there's one sitting about 150 feet from my GMC in
the same storage facility here in Redlands. It has a
license plate that begins with "4" so it's a recent
California registration (you can kind of tell when a vehicle
is first registered in CA by the not terrifically creative
license plate numbering system used.)

The FMC is in very nice looking shape, appears well
taken care of, and occasionally it's gone, so I assume it's
eminently drivable.

I always thought they were a little duckish, but . . . I don't
have a designer's eye.

Alex Sirum always seems to have one at his shop and I have seen them in
storage but the only one I have seen "on the road" was when Charles
Kuralt travelled the country in one for his show!
