A while back in GMC International News Letter it was mentioned that you
could drill a hole (not sure but think it was 1 1/2 inch) in the front of
the engine compartment under the carpet flap at the front of the step and
cover the hole with a moveable metal cover plate that way if you have an
engine fire you don't have to open engine cover to direct your fire
extingusher you just insert end into hole. Don't know if it works but an
idea, It may help.
