Ken -

It's been a few more months now, any more thoughts or revelations on those cheapo Westlake tires? I am in the market for tires now, and while I
normally stay away from buying cheap when safety is concerned, I have also been bitten numerous time by more xpensive brands when it comes to tires.
Brand names don't mean squat anymore, and quality control has been evening out around the world. I will never buy Cooper or Bridgestone again. Digging
into the company that owns and manaufactures Westlake, their reputation is solid, they are the largest tire manufacturer in China, and the 10th
largest in the world.

Thanks in advance!

Westlakes are heavy tires with thick poly sidewalls, 2 steel and one nylon
belts. I DO get a little "tramp" at 65-70 mph. I wish I'd put 5-6 oz. of
Airsoft beads in each instead of 4 -- might cure that.

Aside from that, I'm happy. How could I not be for $555.50 + Airsoft
beads? I did R&R the wheels & haul them to the store -- Sam's & Walmart
sometimes balk at motohomes.

The 4 each 225/55R17 Japanese Toyos I just put on the Lexus were $430.00.
3/4 oz of lead on each & they're smooth as glass to at least 85 mph.

(Kevin, sorry I forgot the "tramp" in our exchange.)

Ken, I bought Westlake's from Walmart as well online last fall. Found the same thing that they did not want to lift the coach to take the wheels off.
So I had to take them off (2) at a time and have them mount them, balancing was done but not exactly happy with it. I did not use the beads though so
I'm going to go thru them again to have the beads added as you mentioned. Funny thing was the set of tires I bought from them 8 years ago the tech
used a floor jack outside the garage and did all the tires for me, so something had changed now.
I've got the same rejection from Sam's Club as well where I get my tires for my vehicles. Anyhow, thanks for posting this info.

Ken sez I DO think I'll back off a little on my speed and try to pay closer
attention to my tire temperatures.

OK, if you aren't gonna go blast - assing through Nwrlins you can lead the convoy from MS to Patterson :)

FWIW my guy got $700 for six Cooper HT3s mounted and balanced out the door. He would of put them on the GMC but I had it on blocks anyway for one of
the several transmission changes.
