Hey, regarding re-plumbing the vacuum source from the carburetor, I
could do
this right now since I am getting ready to re-install my rebuilt carb

You didn't mention whether or not you had removed the distributer.

Larry,
Time the engine just as you would if you left the TV switch in the
loop. The only procedural difference now will be that you do not need
to remove the vacuum line to the distributer to set your initial
advance. I initialy set mine at the factory setting, 8 deg btc. I added
another 2 deg later on & left it there. What worked on my engine may
not work on yours though.
