first before you call. If you are picking up a used HEI unit, always
check the weights & pivot pins for rust. Most of the rust & rust dust
inside the cap comes from the pivot pins in the early HEI units, the
later ones used hardened pivot pins, (more desireable). If the pivot
pins (where the mechanical advance weights are hinged) are worn, the
distributer will require a shaft kit, about $75 or so. His shop is
usually open at 9:00 AM Pacific time. He is a perfectionist but you
will find that out when you speak to him. Ask for Driver.
