Emery/Arch,
What do you say to the GMC parts man when asking for a proportioning valve
for a GMC Classic motorhome? I always get the "We have no listings for a
GMC Motorhome" speech. I always have to say its for a Toronado or 1 ton
truck or some other comparable part source.

Sounds like the one I got from my GMC dealer. I have not put it on yet.

Thanks Emery. I've got the parts book but became discouraged after a couple
of tries. I'll get back to trying it first.

I bought the GMC parts book years ago just because of this problem. They
can
look up a part number on their computer and tell you that its still a good
part number, its been superseded by another number, or that it has been
discontinued.

Another good use of the parts book is that it has diagrams which show the
assemblies which I find a good supplement to the Maintenance Manual.

Since I have the part manual, I'll be happy to look up the GM numbers for
any
part if anyone needs that info.

I just give them the part number---nothing more.
