My gosh, my Norcold is over 20 years old and still working. It is a 3 way. Knock on wood, I may have
jinxed my self mentioning this.
I saw a vid where in hot weather, their fridge would not cool well. To make it work better, that had
two 12v fans, one was put inside and blew on the cooling plate. The other blew air up, over the coils,
to help force the air flow up and out.
Since you are in a remodel mode, maybe you might install a SWITCHED fan in back where you can turn on the fan
to blow the air up over the coils and out the top vent. Leave it off when you don't need it. You can
place a portable fan inside to blow on the cooling plate anytime but it makes a big difference.
PROPANE
I went to fire school and I will tell you this. PROPANE will puddle at low spaces.
You DO NOT want to get propane gas Inside the RV, NEVER EVER.
PROPANE is the hottest fire I ever experienced, you do not want to have an uncontrolled Propane fire.
You mention venting through the floor of the Fridge Cabinet to the wheel well. I think I am ok with this but you
cannot exit above the tires because if your bags go down, the wheels will press against the wheel well surface.
anything connected to it will be ripped off.
Your venting pipe would need to be perfectly sealed. Again, You DO NOT want to get Propane gas
inside the RV, NEVER. The explosion could be Cataclysmic. If there was a fire it would be incredibly hot and difficult
to put out.
Propane under control is a very good thing and very handy. Propane out of control is devastating.
Use good sense with your mods and you will be fine.
