Why does everyone love the screen door? I have one and it just seems
to get in the way. It's hard to open and close the door because you have
to slide those metal panels one way or the other to get at the door
handle.
Also, the slides rattle. I have to stuff paper towels between the screen
door
and the door when I drive, because I hate listening to the constant
rattle.
Someone enlighten me, before I tear it out

Arch,
Gee it's late. I guess I should kick back and relax. Sorry I came down
so hard on the "Bumper Dumper". But, then you'll have to admit that it looks
pretty silly having a toilet sitting there at the end of a trailer hitch. At
first I thought they were kidding and they were not for real. I mean who would
take a dump someplace that close to where you park your truck? And after all
isn't that one of the things the toilet in the GMC is for?

As far as the screen door. Yes it rattles all the time and it makes it a pain
to open and close the door, but I am still new to this RV and Motorhome stuff.
With all the positive endorsements for it, I'm sure I'm going to lean to love
it. Besides it was made by a guy only 3 miles from here. So it must be good!

Thanks to all who have encouraged me to keep the screen door.

>From what I've heard, the screen door is no longer available. Is the "guy
only 3 miles from here" still making them, or is he the guy who had cancer,
and gave up the racket, no pun intended, due to ill health. I can think of
at least two other people who would be interested in a well constructed
screen door. They hate mosquitoes/flys, basically any kind of flying insect
that is likely to wander in, almost as much as I do.

I agree with you Gene, my wife would kill for one (and will kill me if I do
not get one soon). Any info on when we can all buy these doors again would
be appreciated.

The part almost every one wants, is the screen door. I think there is
almost an unlimited market for this part.

(I already have one)

Richard,

My reason for a screen door is simple. I primarily camp in the summer on
the east coast, and I have 2 children (8 and 9 years old). In and out of
the motorhome is a constant, and mosquitoes are not fun. I understand all
of the shortcomings but I feel I they are far outweighed. With the curved
body of the GMC I know of no better way to screen that area.

I put in a fastner to hold the door open and it keeps the screen door
connected to the door when it is closed. I have never had it rattling or
anything else. Email me directly, or call me and I will give/tell you what
I did.
