GM Futurliner

Does anybody on the West Coast know Bob
Valdez, owner of the 1939 GM Futurliner that
was at the Fontana track a couple of weekends
ago? Anybody seen it (the Futurliner, not the
track), or know details?

My office neighbor was at the races and picked
up a flyer and took the tour, but doesn't have
any more info.

Thanks for the great link to our GMC's "father or mother?" Yeah I know
they are not related except in the manufacturer, but it makes for a
great story anyway.

I saw this on the Discovery Channel I think. Or was it a program about
RV's and what some people have done with old buses? Anyway a great
website. Thanks for the link.

Glad you enjoyed it.

BTW, I wish I could get together with those in
MI for whatever at Gilbert's.

Tim Brown and I share the same alma mater
(Milford -- me in '68, he a couple of years later),
and it would be a hoot to get together with other
Michiganders. But alas, it's not to be.

I'd sure like to try one of those steaks, though.
Best I can get out here is Ruth's Criss in Palm
Desert.

As I was reading a few of the items on the Web
site, I was trying to recall if I'd ever seen these,
since they used them up through '56, if I read
the info correctly. I grew up in the Pontiac area,
and remember seeing the new Pontiacs on
display in the old corporate building on DIxie
Highway (or was that Oakland Ave.), but can't
remember the GM Parade of Progress. (The
last new Pontiac I remember on display there
was the '56. My dad worked for Pontiac Division
at that time.)

Totally off topic, but oh well.
