Gilbert's Mini Rally Time

Tim,
That will work for me. I'll try to be there before 5:00 so that I can
avoid the huge traffic jams that happen around 5 in Jackson. You'll
recognize me by the stealthy way that I arrive in your parking lot. No
more clicks and squeaks like my arrival at the Stockbridge rally. I'm
supposed to get my new tires this week to go with the new Alcoas.

Interesting thing happened (at least to me) today. My wife and I went up
to our cottage to cut the grass. This is supposed to be her job, but I
cut it instead in honor of mother's day. Well anyway somewhere near
Lexington we saw a sign along the highway (M-25) that said "Cardboard
Boat Race, June 10" and thought to myself that I know someone from the
internet who does those things. A few minutes later it dawned on me that
it was ..duhhh...an advance notice of Arch's race. I hope Arch can make
it to the mini rally after the race. I am Looking forward to meeting him
and his GMC and everyone else at your mini rally. See ya then.

Arch,
I sure know what it's like to be playing "Beat the Clock" with the GMC. My
experiences have not been anywhere near what you've been up to. However I still
know the feeling. It seems like the only time I really get anything done with
the GMC, or anything else for that matter, is when I have a deadline.

Jim's helped me out a few times too by phone and in person at Forest City and all
without compensation. It's sure nice that there are people out there that
understand our little hobby and are willing to help.

Good luck with the alignment! I know they can end up being quite expensive if
your pins are bad and swing arms are bent. I just had Buskrik look at my rear
alignment because of some unusual tire wear on the forward passenger side tire.
I was concerned that I would be hit with a $1,000 bill for new pins,
straightening bent swing arms etc. As it turned out everything was OK. What a
relief!

Richard,
I hope you were lucky enough to miss Friday's storm. Tornado went through
at White Rock. We got 3 inches of rain in about an hour.

Robert,
We were spared any damage at our place in Forestville. White Rock is pretty
close to us as you know so I guess we should count our blessings. There was
quite a bit of standing water out in the lawn and in our field by the highway
on Sunday. That made it a little difficult to maneuver the tractor around
while cutting the grass. Thanks for your concern.

Ritch,
I hope to see you there. This should be fun! The rally is getting bigger.

I wonder if Tim knows what he's getting into by having this rowdy group over.
Yeah he does and I know he's going to enjoy every minute of it.

Gilbert's is a couple of cuts above "Mountain Jacks", "Steak and Ale" and
"Outback". It's really a nice place! I'm sure you're going to enjoy it. I
know I did.
