Gas tank cleaning up date.

Les,

Not completely. The price of Autogas has risen since I got that idea because the Aussie government is removing the tax breaks on it.

The problem I have is that the Caddy 500 I built has a 10 to 1 compression ratio so I will have to burn premium petrol which has an
octane rating of 100.

I could use thick head gaskets to reduce the compression, however, that will effect the squish band
(http://www.nrhsperformance.com/tech_squish.shtml) and reduce the engines performance.

I may be able to un-shroud the valves (http://www.diyporting.com/Shrouding.html) enough to reduce the compression ratio and increase
flow.

I will be collecting some additional parts I need to build the Caddy while I'm in the USA so I can put it together when I get back
to Sydney.

Regards,
Rob M.

Rob,
Have you given up on using propane/butane as your primary fuel source?
