I think the socks on my gas line pickup in the tank are clogged. Every
so often the engine will die down - almost cut off at speed - 55 mph.
Can I blow back tru these to check or will that blow them off. Also do I
need them if I install a hi flow inline gas filter ahead of the
switchover valve. Any response is welcome, this problem also has made it
necessary to install vacuum pump for brakes.

Jim,
Yes, you could blow air back to help clear out the socks, I would leave
them on even with a filter in line.

You may also change the carb. filter. I drove my coach (The Dumpster) to
Lake City after it sat for 10 years, I filled up the carb. filter 2 times
on the 4 hr. trip! The symptom was the same.

Call and I'll give you the cross# for the filter if you need
(toll free# 1-877-275-4462).

Hope this helps,

Jim Bounds,
Replacing the carb filter was the first thing I did - easiest. Still had
the problem. Added a inline fuel pump and filter, the problem was better
but still occured. Switched to aux tank - Am i correct in assuming that
this is a seperate sender and sock assembly ? This seemed to help a
little - now it happen less often. I drive the coach about 2 times a
week 100 miles or more. I guess I will install a fuel pressure guage
inline to check pressure. How much pressure can I safely put on the gas
tank socks. Thanks for the info on the cruise control - works great.

Jim,
Darn good question, I do not know a # for max fuel pressure for the fuel
sock. Sounds like you are on the right track. I will be able to tell you
more after I drive my coach to Myrtle Beach the end of the month. I picked
up a no bull fuel filter from WIX today with replaceable filter. I intend
on sifting the goo from the tanks (3 tanks). Will let you know what happens.
