Hi All,
Here on the western end of Long Island, New York we went to $1.57.9 today up
from $1.49.9 1 week ago. I know a lot of you feel that we in the US are due
for it, but I don't believe that is true. We hear about OPEC holding price,
and increasing production, the price drops a bit for a month or two and then
up,up, up. I know that the day that CNN reports a price on the futures going
up $.10 a barrel we get an instant increase of $.10 a gallon. It just
doesn't add up. I think the wholesalers and dealers just push til someone
screams and then they back down. Our Jr Senator ( Chuckie Schmumer) was
calling for release of the oil reserves a while back and the price dropped
for a while, but all he did was request, as soon as it was out of the news
it spiked up again. The thought makes me stop and question how I'm gonna
feel about spending $1100. for gas on a summers trip. I dont know about the
rest of you, but with Storage, Insurance, Coast to Coast, Campground
membership dues, it costs about $2000. a year before I get to maintenance or
upgrades. I wonder how much Butterfly Collecting would cost as a Hobby ?
Just venting after filling the tanks ! ( no back up I dropped the tanks and
replaced all the hoses last year).
