Is that for regular? In Troy, Rochester and Warren, Michigan etc.
regular seems to be about $1.89. At this rate I'm going to have to keep
the GMC parked!

Here's what I ran into going to the left coast and back. It is MIDGRADE
only.
Needles, Ca $1.899
Oakdale, Ca 1.849
Williams, Az 1.799
Fairfield, Ca 1.799
Presidio of Monterey PX (don't tell anyone) $1.769
Shamrock, Tx 1.699
Bakersfield, Ca 1.639
Ok, somewhere 1.589
Milan, NM 1.589
Mojave, Ca 1.579

Thank God that land yacht averaged 24+ MPG on the trip.{:>)

>From the sound of it, we are getting the royal shaft here in Michigan! Now
we are heading for $2.00 for regular. And you guys in the rest of the
country are under $1.50 or so. I wonder what the deal is. This sure won't
help tourism here in the Great Lake State (I'm mainly concerned with my
tourism in my GMC).

I'm beginning to wonder if I will be able to afford to drive over to Jackson
for the Gilbert's Mini Rally on Tuesday ;^(

Seemed like price was ridiculous +/- 75 miles of Chicago when I passed by
that way last week. Our price in the Philadelphia area shot up dramatically
after 01 Jun when a reformulated gas that is in short supply became
mandatory, before that, gas was as low as $1.269 for full service.

The pipeline rupture in Jackson has really screwed up distribution. All of
us in the "business" are on daily allocation. If you are going anywhere in
Michigan this weekend be prepared for 2.00 plus per gallon.

Bob,
I didn't know about a pipeline rupturing. In Jackson, MI?

I was going to take my GMC up to our place in Forestville this weekend but
changed my mind. The thought of paying $.25/mile in fuel to get up there and
back, just so we have more places to sleep, turned me off. We're taking the 24
MPG minivan instead. I'm even leaving the SUV home.

I am however still going to the Gilbert's rally in Jackson with the GMC. Bob
will you be able to join us? GMC or no GMC?

Gas lowest place in lewiston Idaho $1.49.9. Clarkston Wash. across the
border $1.56.9. Costco in Clarkston $145.9.

The main pipeline for Southwestern Michigan leaked. Lost 100,00 gallons, or
so they say. Leaked into a river in the Jackson area. Forced the
evacuation of alot of the locals and closed two supply terminals that supply
all that area of the state. It has caused a real supply problem, coupled
with the closing of the old Total Petroleum refinery in Alma. Gasoline is
completely unavailable for even us distributors to purchase. Price reflects
that. They hope to have the pipeline fixed this weekend and by sometime
next week have the supply problem fixed.
I really would love to come to the mini rally at Gilberts but I have a boys
varsity basketball coach and we are playing in a tournament at Wayne State
that weekend. I will be close to it tomorrow. We are playing at Adrian
College.
Thanks for asking me though. I was talking to Max Purdy and he told me how
much fun he had there a few weeks ago. I had hoped to go meet Arch this
weekend in Croswell but like I said I won't be here. Have a good time.

Billy! Get yourself to Bastrop, Tx.! Regular for 1.369 today at a little
no-name (painted all yellow) station in the middle of the town. Even has
the little TV screens at every pump, set to the Bloomberg station so you can
watch stock market news while you pump. Shuts off when you stop pumping, so
the more gas you get the more news you get! (even Exxon doesn't have that
amenity!)
We paid 1.389 yesterday at Sams Wholesale in Houston....

PS: And what's society coming to? Folks breaking into GMC's and houses. And
we just came from visiting our almost built house to find someone had tried
to steal the 5 ton outside AC unit!
Wasn't successful but made a real mess of the unit trying to load it into a
truck. Looks like whoever did it took an ax to the copper line: Freon
probably blew up in the thiefs face! Too bad...(ha!)
So now we wait for a new AC unit. Still can't move in. ;_;

Hi A Henderson

Sorry to hear about your near loss. Another good reason to get the he**
out of Houston. Bastrop's a pretty little town. We bought our GMC from
just south of there at Flatonia.

Why don't ya'll load up and rally with the GMC Classics at Fredericksburg
next week? Now that's some real pretty hill country and it's a really nice
rv park too.

It's raining as I type this and it sure is nice for a change.

Hope to see you at Fredericksburg!

This is getting depressing. Coming back from our cottage, the prices for
regular is now running about $2.09 here in SE Michigan. I left the GMC at
home because I don't really want to pay more then $.26/mile to drive
someplace, even if it is in style.

I am still going to the Gilbert's rally this Tuesday with the GMC. Even if
I have to pay more then $.26/mile to get there.

Think of it this way:

Next year gas might be $3.00 per gallon and you will have missed a trip for
nothing

or

If you were driving most RV you would only be getting 5 miles per gallon so
you are getting a bargin.

or

who the heck cares what it costs, the difference is less than the price of
a good dinner.

how about them apples ??
