Gas Cap - Cruise Control

Surprise!! When I removed my fuel tank cap to refuel my newly acquired
76 Palm Beach for the very first time ever, I found that the tank was
pressurized to the point of raising the cap against a secondary stop.
Seems to me I have the wrong cap. Comments, please.

Cruise Control - doesn't work. What is the most common failure mode for
the stock control?
Has anyone added an aftermarket electronic unit? Dana made a nice unit
earlier that was much better than the old GMC for maintaining a constant
speed, resume, etc. Comments, please.

Also, be sure the ground wire from the transducer is good. The
transducer is mounted to plywood and must have a good ground to
function.
