Hi all;

Other than the bearing puller, what precision tools are needed to replace
the front wheel bearings. I take it that a micrometer (s?) is/are needed.
I need to get my own and hope someone can tell me what I need to tell the
counter person I need, or better yet, has anyone bought these recently and
happen to have a source and part number handy. TIA, walter bright 76 GB.

Walter,

A 2 inch capacity micrometer is necessary to check the hub, but you need
an inside micrometer to check the knuckle. I'd just carry the parts to
a local machine shop to have the dimensions checked. Cheaper than
buying the tools.

Thanks; I agree, but I am getting ready to build several engines after a
long hiatus from engine building and will need the micrometers for them
anyway. I was not sure I understood what was needed for the bearing job and
wanted to double check with someone who did. Thanks again, walt.
