GMCMI Amana Fall Convention registration is open. You can register for the tour that's on September 20th. On the GMCMI site. As to travel to the display. You MUST contact ME only on your travel arrangements to the display. NOT Kim, at all. GMCMI has NO involvement with travel. As that's my duty. There is NO parking lot there. As it's a private car collection. A parking lot. Not far away has been arranged for our main parking requirements. I will need anyone coming across I-80, I-35, or any other routes. And plan to stop for the tour on their way to the Amana's. You must let me know of this prior to the closing of early GMCMI registration. ( Sooner would be much better for me. PLEASE. ) I must know how many GMC's I will have to deal with. And the number of people that will need to be transported to the display building. You can't just stop without my prior knowledge. You will not be allowed into the display.

For those going to the Amana site prior to Sept 20th. Those people will caravan to Ankeny. We'll leave the Amana's at 9 AM. PLEASE contact me ASAP if you can supply others rides in your GMC. Or in the TOD you brought with you. And how many others you can carry with you. I can't have GMC's, or cars coming with just 1 or 2 people in them. Again with the caravan. If you didn't let me know that you want to go prior to the end of early GMCMI registration. You will not be admitted. REALITY. It's this for a plan. Or get buses at $30 PER PERSON, $60 per couple. I need cooperation to make this work well. I also need 5 GMC owners with their coach to transport people from that parking lot. To the display building. These GMC's will be allowed to park at the display building/18 hole golf course. Great photo op. Let me know soon if you can help with this. Bob Dunahugh Yenko108 Please have subject line of. TOUR.

Some clarity to what info I need.

1.
Are you stopping on your way to Amana, and how many people in your party?
2.
Are you going from Amana in the caravan, and how many can ride with you?
3.
Can you help transport people from the staging parking lot that's about 3 miles from the collection? If so.
4.
How many can you carry on each trip? Need 5 GMC's. These 5 can park at the building that the display is in.

If I get the 5 GMC's for this task. There will be no charge for transportation.( But you can tip the driver ) If I can't get the 5 GMC's. Then I need to rent a van for $250. I'll have to get the van. Drive the van, and return the van. Bob Dunahugh

Where is this remote parking lot? Can we arrive at that lot sometime during ht night and be ready to go in the AM. What time do we need to be ready
to go from the remote lot? I just trying to put this trip all together.

Ken. I don't have the lot address. But their nice enough to let us stage there. So please fine another close by lot. Address to come. The Amana caravan will get to the lot between 10:30, and 11:00 hopefully. Probable best if no one showed up at the lot before 10:30 Bob Dunahugh

How about a idea on what town we are headed for. Is this place over north of Des Moines? A around 100 miles west of Amana?

Ken,

Ankeny, Iowa is the town where this is all located.

Ankeny is right off of I-35 just north of Des Moines. Almost a suburb... Should be out of town far enough to find spots to camp(there is a
super-walmart in town). There are also Campgrounds close, you will have to do some googling on that.

Ankeny is about 105 miles directly East of Amana. (I-80 to I-35 if you choose interstate driving).

Hey Bob, being working stiffs, the only way we can go is to fly in to Des Moines and rent a car.
Would it be possible to meet up somewhere to caravan in? Or alternatively, maybe get a cab to
drop us off???

thanks *very* much for arranging this. What a great opportunity.

OK, I just signed up yesterday. Now I guess I need to tell you that I will be looking for a ride from Amana to the tour. I am confused as to what i
need to do.

Bob, we will meet the group at the staging lot in Ankeny because we'll be
spending the night of 19th nearby. We'll be in our car.

Thanks for your good planning.
