I wonder if our GMC's will ever be real collector's items. There were an awful lot of them produced but who knows how they will fare in the future.
I guess this thought came to me after watching a short video of a car I bought when I got out of the service in 1969. It's the same exact car except
for the colors. Mine was red with black interior with a white top. The one in the clip is 1 of only 4 known to exist. And I thought my 1961 Corvette
with La Mans suspension, 1 of 46 was rare.
Gee, if I'd only known then what I know now.......

I owned one of those. I ordered if in 1964 for delivery on announcement day. GM went on strike and I did not get it for another 2 months. Medium
Blue with a white convertible top and glass rear window.

Early 1965's had the 409 as an option. The L78, 425 hp 396 was a late year option that came from the Corvette stable. It had square port heads, solid
lifter cam, aluminum intake with a 780 Holley, unique exhaust manifolds, four bolt mains going to a 12 bolt, 4.1 gear. A/C was not available but who
cared?
It was a one year only availability dropping to 375hp the following year.
The block would take a .156 overbore to accept a stock 427 piston, put that all into a 1962 Chevy II and it would scare you-ask me how I know.

Hal,

If they do become a collector's item it won't matter to us because we'll probably be driving a pair of wings. ;-)

Corvettes never did use the W block. The L78 (396) was the only big block in Corvettes in 1965 and the only year they used that motor. 427's came out
the next year 1966.

Without parts available, it will not be very valuable.
The classic cars , one can still get parts.
