There's currently a lot of activity on the mailing list about the original
heater. Mine is original and is currently working fine, but with the lack
of spare parts and possible(probable) CO problems, I'd like to hear
recommendations on modern replacements, i.e. Brand, size, installation
problems/instructions, controls, etc.

Thanks,

Bob--
I elected for a modern and safe replacement. I used the Hydro-Flame which
looks to be exactly like the Surburban. Easy to install (with a few
tricks). Works great and all access is from the outside.
