Fuel system mod - High T for Gerard Hickey

Matt,
Unfortunately I didn't read this two months ago when I actually did have the tanks down. Having said that, is there a fix that does NOT involve
dropping the tanks. (I won't be stationary on pavement until the fall to block the GMC up.) Barring that, do you have a suggestion for mitigating the
fill problem? I normally drop the rear end and the far side with the air controls and fill at the slowest rate. I do get full fills without leaks
after a couple of restarts letting it vent to silence. Would it be better to level it like at a campsite? I gotta say that the slow fill problem is
trivial, but it would be nice to pump 35-40 gallons of fuel faster than I do now.

Doug,

I don't think you can do the mod on the ground, but she doesn't need to be high up in the air either.

The Fill Vent line is the other line that comes off the sending/pick up unit. The fill vent lines from both tanks are Teed together just about over
the fill pipe T. That is the problem. If you can get to that T and take it out and at that point splice in a pair of 3/8 lines to continue the run,
that is most of the job. The rest you can do if you take out (if you still have it) the left front wheel well liner. While I did want that next T to
be higher, I settled for just under the cab floor and the mod has been successful.
