Fuel Injection

Hi All,
With all the talk of Throttle Body Injection vs Carburetor. does anybody
have any knowlege of adaptability of Direct Port Injection. Perhaps the use
of one of the surplus cracked manifolds. I appreciate the advantage of
T.B.I., but in my opinion direct port injection would solve far more of the
Carb deficiencies. I'm sure a large GM V-8 computer could be adapted as well
as the throttle plate, filter and hoses. Anybody have access to a good
junkyard for parts?

Hi Mark et al,
Converting a carbed 403 or 455 Olds to port fuel injection using a GM
1227730 ecm is definitely do-able, very do-able in the case of a 403 which
has a factory port FI manifold and throttle body available (350 olds as used
in 75' to 80' Sevilles and some Eldos) There is a lot of good info at
www.diy-efi.org follow the links to gmecm part of the site. A good book on
FI conversations is"Fuel injection: Installation, Performance Tuning,
Modifications" by Jeff Hartman.
