I know this is probably a redundant question, but the manual gives no specs
on the front wheel clearances or sizes. Does anyone have the dimensions of :

1. Inside Diameter of Steering Knuckle.
2. Outside Diameter of Stub of the Wheel hub. This is the portion that the
wheel bearing is pressed on.

This is confusing because normally if a bearing is pressed on a shaft it
will take more force to remove it than a slide hammer would generate, yet
this is the method in the GM Manual.

In the case of the outer bearing races it would seem that they cannot be a
press fit because assembly would be very difficult.

In any event plain straight description of how tight these items should be
would be most appreciated and of course hard accurate dimensions and
tolerances would by very useful.

Bill just did my wheel bearings this morning using the new tool I got. Went
very easy. Outside dimension of the hub 2.0015 to 2.0025" and the inside of
the knuckle is 3.2510" to 3.2525".

The bearing and hub is a press fit into the knuckle however the bearings are
a very tight force fit on the hub. You need a good wheel puller set to do it.
