A report on this forum mentioned with modern grease both grease and bearings
looked new after many thousands of miles.

What is a reasonable inspection interval with the following conditions?

1. Stock front hubs and knuckles in good condition.
2. New style stock wheel bearings
3. Proper clearances and proper assembly using good tools
4. Modern improved grease
5. Neither front wheel will ever be loaded beyond factory ratings.

How about every 100k ?

Are we there yet, with the GMC?

I know it requires some shooting from the hip, but given the above
conditions, how much, if any, stretching of the 30k inspection interval
seems reasonable to you?

I don't know about the bearings Don but I remember some years ago when Mobil
1 first came out I received an engineering report on it. The United States
Air Force had run a chevrolet 409 Cubic inch HP engine on it for the equiv
of 100K miles and than tore it down. They never used any other oil in it
and never changed it. The honing marks were still visible on the cylinder
walls of the engine, and they could find no visible wear. I was sold
immediately.

In the case of the bearings and hubs I would still tear them down at 30K
miles. Its fun!

Don,

If you think about how long it takes the average RVer to reach 30K, it's
not that unreasonable a requirement.
