went in to get front disc pads replaced today - found out I need both
rotors replaced instead - one is bad shape - one is OK but too thin to
turn - I am going to put new pads on the bad side so i can leave on the
trip this weekend but I know the rough rotor will tear them up fast

I am going to be in Calgary and Columbia MO for extended stays in the
next 3 weeks - is there a good place in either where i could get good
prices on the rotors and have experienced mechanics to put them on?

also I think I have one rear wheel that needs an alignment touchup - I
can visually see what looks like toe out and positive camber on the
driver side front rear wheel and the tire is cupping on the inside edge
- - is there an experienced shop in either Calgary or Columbia?

also - what are tire prices like in Calgary for 8.75 16.5D - i could use
a couple tires - might be able to save some on the exchange rate

thanks

I believe Daren Paget recently provided the name of a shop in Calgary that
did a 6 wheel alignment for him.

I couldn't make out whether it was Maryland or Missouri that you were going to
be. If it's Maryland, call me when you are in town,
301-596-2484 or 410-995-6639. I'll help you anyway I can, and offer you a
computer to go on the net (free).

thanks for all the quick responses

I will be in Missouri not Maryland

if I put on new rotors and new bearings why do I need a bearing puller?

Darren - have you purchased rotors and bearings in Canada? - I was
quoted prices today in the area of $200US for a rotor - I am going to be
driving up on the old rotors since time is too short to get them by
Saturday - hopefully I will be able to 'baby' the brakes so the new pads
survive - time for super defensive driving

IIRC, when dad smoked the wheel bearing, Zeb Frady sold him a new rotor
for $90. That's been a few months back, tho' - prices change and my
memory ain't what it was(if it ever were).

Bought 2 new rotors last month from Cinnibar. Price $84 each. Despite the
fact that some of thir prices are hard to swallow their price on wheel
bearings for front is competitive and frankly their rotor price is
refreshing.
