Probably was a crazy idea for sure. GMCers are an independent breed. Ever
see two coaches exactly alike?
Did you say Arch that you are going to use a packard for your toad? Who is
squirrely? I have squirrled things away my whole life waiting for something
to break down. Almost never does, that i agree with. Even have my tax
records from 1958. Never can tell when you need it, IRS could break down
and some fool could say I forgot to file my 1958 Federal Taxes, got it
covered though so I sleep well at night.
A couple of years ago threw away some chicken wire that was at least 15
years old, and the next month decided to raise some chickens. had to buy
new stuff and still have it in the barn. may need it again. Same with car
parts. need a rear bumper insert for a 1979 olds toro, I have one, carb for
1930 model A, got it covered, ignition switch for a 1962 ford, got one.
Just never can tell when you need it.
now have the GMC and boy can you stockpile parts for it. Have 3 dana pumps,
2 carbs, extra intake manifolds, 4 exhaust manifolds, box of brass fittings
for the air lines, extra water tank, extra air tank, 4 CV joints, extra
boots, starters and God knows what else. Boxes are stacking up fast. But
why am I telling you guys all of this. You all have the same things for sure.
Arch if the truth were known we are all squirrels. Just a matter of who is
highest in the tree.
Sleep tight.
