Freon Recovery Machine in Georgia

It appears to be unused and there is no condition code to indicate one way or the other. I probably will not bid on this.

As a side note,
I bid $750 on ninety-three 30 pound containers of virgin r-12 the last week that government was holding in Virginia. I figured it was worth over
$28,000 on re-sale.
Well, I was out bid and the winning bid was $28,025.

I'm also looking at a 3 KW diesel generator with less that 50 hours on it. They call it portable but it weighs 270# and say it takes 6 men to move
it.

270# / 6 < 40# per "man". That's about the government's standard now that
women are "equal" in the workforce. IIRC, USAF's max for an aircraft
mechanic to lift was 75# -- now about that 40 No comment. :-)

Your auction experiences are about like mine -- on the other end. At
Mansfield I was telling the tale of the Amermac on-vehicle tire trueing
machine I sold on eBay. HER cousin had it in his garage in Clearwater, FL
for many years. I saw and commented on it in '98. Some years later he
moved to Uchee, GA and I saw the Amermac in his garage again 10+ years
ago. About 3 years ago he called wanting to know if I wanted it or should
he take it to the salvage yard. Somehow that I don't recall, Dan Meyers
got involved and picked it up for me. He took it to Frank Jenkins' place,
where it stayed until January when his constant (good-natured) bitching
about it caused me to bring it home -- probably enroute to Bean Station,
where Al Samsel had given me permission to station it.

I finally got tired of working around it in my shop and decided to put it
on eBay. Since it was apparently in good shape, ran, and had all its
accessories, I put a starting bid of $500 on it -- "No Shipping". Right
away, a dealer in such stuff, located in Miami, bid $509. There was no
other interest. When I checked late the day after bidding closed, I almost
dropped my teeth! $2550!

Sure 'nuff, a couple of days later, after PayPal received payment, a
tractor trailer from Winter Haven, FL showed up to pick it up. I think it
was a trucking company buying it for their fleet shop. Turns out, new ones
sell for $7500 and the guy in Miami also had on on eBay at $3000. Who'd a
thunk it? :-)

Side tale: In 1958, a local garage owner, close friend of my grandfather,
drew in the dirt in front of his shop his concept for operation of a tire
truing machine. The viewer was my machinist great uncle (once convicted of
manslaughter and escaped for 15 years, by the way) built a prototype. That
evolved into Amermac, which was later sold and headquartered in Ellaville,
9 miles north of me. The company is still thriving but was sold to Ohio a
couple of years ago. As far as I know, that's still the leading, if not
only, brand on the market.

Go get a hearing aid so I don't have to write all this stuff for you! :-)
