community. Linda, and I went to our first GMCMI event in 2004. From Iowa to=
Las Vegas. Knew no one there. We were made to feel so welcomed the very f=
irst day by Fred, and Sharon Hudspeth, and Emery, and Michelle Stora. Then=
that welcoming group just expanded quickly from that point on. We've atten=
ded a lot of GMCMI events since that very first one. All over the country. =
Mileage there made no difference to us. Then in 2007. Linda got an infectio=
n in her knee after her knee replacement. She was given a choice. Lose you=
r leg, or your life. The numbers of letters, e-mails, and phone calls was =
be on belief from GMCers. Then in Aug of 2015. 3 weeks before the=
Rapids City GMCMI event. Our GMC burned up in Neb. We had 4 couples offer =
to loan us their GMC's. To go to the Rapids City event. Only one of the cou=
ples we knew. Again. Lots of letters, e-mails, and phone calls. Jim, and G=
race K at Applied GMC were so kind, and helpful. Out of the blue. Jim K cal=
led me the Sunday morning on my cell phone. We got in Linda's lift van to=
go to Rapids City SD. We got a standing ovation for still coming. A real =
truth. In general. The general public aren't comfortable with handicapped p=
eople around. At the time that Linda lost her leg. We were in GMCMI, and a =
large car club. I was on the car clubs board. At the car clubs conventions.=
People avoided Linda at their conventions. If I was with her. Both of us w=
ere avoided. At GMCMI events. She was still totally welcomed, and talked to=
o. As a true family would be. We truly love this group. That's why I put o=
n the GMC/GMCMI display at the Muscle Car/ Corvette Nationals. As a promo f=
or both. They charge $200 for a club to put up a display. This coming Nov w=
ill be my 5th display. I pay that fee myself. As a gift to GMCMI. I don't w=
ant, or ask anything for what I do. We're a family. And we just lost two of=
