To Chuck Blanford and the rest of your GMC people, I have had that
happen to me twice. Once on a Harley Davidson Motor Cycle and once in
the GMC. It was even paid for by myself. I now call it stupidity
because it has happened to me twice. Oh! What was the foreign
material. MTBE in SHELL gasoline. It ate all the rubber up on the carb
and cost me $50.00 for two parts for the Harley Carb and a lot of pain
on the GMC. For some reason neither SHELL or HARLEY will comment.
Harley on the inferior rubber or SHELL on their CRAPY gasoline. I offer
this for comment. I will never ever use SHELL AGAIN. Chuck on the
Central Coast of CA.

I think you folks in CA have a problem with the state of California and
your CARB board.

MTBE is about to get kicked out of existence as far as a gasoline
ingredient is concerned because it is polluting ground water in that
state and other western states.

Don't blame Shell-my guess is if they are in compliance with state law,
all gas has it. I will forward some info to the Net from my contact at
the Packard Club who monitors this problem.
