I am tempted to go with the $500 bid.
1. Because I think it is all it is worth. And
2. Because it is less than he is expecting. And
3. If he takes the bid I might get that past the wife.

I'd sell you the remains of the Adobe Posterior so you could fix up
the back end, but the landfill here doesn't allow scrounging.

It's amazing what people will do. The Adobe Posterior probably cost
more to do than what I did to install a proper back end. These folks,
in trying to make the insert joint go away, have made a nearly
impossible body repair project. I'm thinking they would likely have to
do the same thing I did--replace everything up to the joint.

At least mine had a workable interior. Sort of.

Probably because he has got new tires, carb, brakes etc invested in it. I
guess you could start a restoration that way. Mechanical 1st. Sure seems a
ashame to have done some of the mechanical and then just walk away from the
project. A lot of people are good at taking things a part and tearing them
up but putting them back together is what separates the men from the boys.

It might be just the thing for a 2 Harley (or bikes of your choice) toy box.

While Rick has amazing rearstorative powers, this may be a bit much. It also looks like the beltline has been buggered, and what is that thing on the roof over portal #1?
The drivetrain, taillights, and lovely blue dash would be worth $500 anyway. Too far for me, though.

Everytime I see those pics I feel like I know what it would look like if the back end of the GMC exploded.

And not having a bunch of parts left over.

Another discriminator separating the men from the boys must be the
ability to perform such sugery without the work area earning
disaster-scene descriptions.

In the end, I just covered over the leftovers with a fresh layer of
gravel.

I sorta wish I'd just kept going and stripped the whole interior up to
the cockpit and started over with it. But then it would still be
looking like bomb debris. A man has got to know his limitations.
