Anyone ever do any sand casting aluminum? I have.
I can only imagine the work that went into that pattern and how many Ragusa cast that actually came out suitable to sell. A good number of them went right back into the furnace I bet.
$300 is a pretty good deal for something like that, custom fit to our coach.
I was camping this weekend and a gentleman next to me had a new truck bed camper, on a F350 4x4. The steps folded down out of the bed of the truck. No handrail. He had recently retired at 70 and was in excellent shape. He had no issues getting up and down those stairs. He must have been 40-50 inches off the ground. (again, no hand rails)
When I arrived I backed into the hill slope and dropped my tail to level. It was low enough and I'm 53 in ok shape, there was no need to use the step at all. After a few beers I was using the hand grip and the step.
I don't need it to be so low, or the step, but man is it convenient!!
