My father in-law worked with a company that developed and manufactured the plastic that went between
the glass in the lamination process. He says the fogging is a result of a poor seal on the outer
edge of the glass. He guesses that the gasket material used to hold in the windshield allowed
leakage to reach the edges of the laminate, causing the fogging. He also feels the quality of
manufacturing of the glass may have been inferior, resulting in a poor glass/plastic/glass bond or
interface.
I am no expert, but he is, and this is his theory. Just ask my mother in law, I know little about
anything!
