Sorry to hear about all of these problems with Good Sam and FMCA towing.
It's disheartening to hear of so many issues with these services.

Although my coach still hasn't moved, I upgraded my "AAA Plus" to "AAA
Plus RV". I don't know how AAA compares, but has anyone had steady
success with AAA or another service like Allstate, KOA or others?

Been reading the Good Sam - FMCA service problems voiced for several days.
I will stick with AAA. We have a 46 year association with them and they
have bailed us out of many jams with very solid performance. Last week we
found we had a flat tire while camping at San Simion State Park. This camp
is in a dead zone for iphone connection, so we had to use a phone at the
Rangers gate to make contact. While it did take several hours for them to
get there, they came from Atascadero, about 80 miles away, and promptly
switched out the tires so that we could get on the road home the next day.
They do good work.

One thing I can say about AAA in California.
They have a program where they will tow you ANYPLACE 200 miles .
They are not perfect, but they are 100% better than SAD SAM .

I have had Coach Net since 2007 but, knock on wood, I've never had to use
it. It's 169/year. I have Colorado AAA Plus on my family's vehicles and we
have needed their services a number of times (7 vehicles) and their service
has been first rate. I think I'll put the GMC motor home with them next
year.

You can buy a good older tractor for 30 Large. Swap the trailer for a ro-ro. Problem is, inshoance. If you could buy trip insurance at a reasonable
rate, you could move GMCs at a quotable rate.
