Subject: Fix for fogged headlights

There are many hits on the internet about cleaning the haze off your
plastic headlight covers.

They range from easy peasy to lots of work, and cheap to several hundred
bucks.
Many of them say that their solution lasts longer than the easier or
cheaper ones.

As easy and inexpensive as these two are....who cares. Less than 5
minutes if you don't have to spend too much time looking for where you
left the ingredients.

Half water, half white vinegar: Spray directly on the outside of the
heaadlight, then immediately wipe off with a rag or paper towel. No need
to scrub or leave it on. The cloudy film comes right off, leaving the
headlights much clearer. One step shorter and cheaper thn using the
insect repellent.
================
Spray bug repellent containing DEET directly on the outside of the
heaadlight, then immediately wipe off with a rag or paper towel. No need
to scrub or leave it on. The cloudy film comes right off, leaving the
headlights much clearer. Then wash with soap and water. That's it. You
can use the leftover bug repellent to repel bugs.

I've used toothpaste :d and a soft cloth. Or some Mother's Polishing Paste (I was a Swiss Army Knife collector and used it to renew the scales on
the cellidor handles).

Toothpaste - Arm & Hammer - the little bit of baking soda grit there helps remove the small surface scratches that are a big component of the fogging
(old plastic doesn't help). A little elbow grease (not much is needed) and then wash it off. Haven't had to use it on the coach, but it did a fine
job on a really badly fogged Sportage!

You can use that trick on scratched cd's and dvd's as well. Deep gouges, nope, but surface stuff it works.

I think they are referring to modern auto headlights with the plastic.
I use Autosol.
Any mild abrasive will work.

600 grit wet on a da sander to remove all original clear coat off of lens
then clear coat with your chosen 2k clear is what we do to restore
composite (plastic) headlamp lenses.
