Welp, I'm delighted to say we just got back from our first over-nighter.
Went to Oceans/Worlds of Fun in KC with the family. All went well and didn't
have a lick of problems. Wife still hates it but other than that it went
great! No pings, no leaks anywhere, no oil or water usage, no nothing! What
a relief...
Enjoyed a great time there but got cooked by the sun. Left the Onan running
while we were at the parks to keep cool. Didn't all that well but that's the
problem w/one AC unit at 90+ degrees and 90 % humidity and parked in the
direct sun. Seems funny parked in the RV section and next to those monsters
coaches and busses the GMC looks like a miniature toy. Stayed at Basswood RV
park north of KC. Had everything you need like TV hookups, phone, water,
even dumping at each pad (first time out remember so it doesn't take much to
impress a newbie). Also had a few admirers ask about the coach which really
kinda surprised me.
Had 40+ mph gusty side winds down and back which tends to keep you on your
toes, especially with semis. The new 355 gears lets her move right along at
65-75 mph and can pass those semis on the hills easy. Racked up 650 miles.
Got about 8.3 mpg with the Onan running most of the time. Oil pressure
stayed about 40psi on the highway and dropped to 25 idling. Water temp never
got to halfway with the NAPA sender and stock gauge even on long hills and
hot outside temps. I did notice the Oil Temp ran at 225-275 degrees and
fluctuates with the speed (higher=hotter) which is to be expected, I'd
guess.
Overall I am glad to see all those long hours and efforts finally paying off
with reliability and performance. Now I'll have to attack the living spaces
since she's finally deemed road worthy.

HA! The spell checker wanted to change "over-nighter" to over knighted. May
not be too far off...
