You're in the right place. Bleed the brakes. If you can, borrow a power bleeder or get one from James Hupy. PIA to get on right, but gets the
lines bled properly. Steering means either something is worn or more likely since the PO was fiddling with it, out of alignment, shaft to steering
box. Ask Alex Ferrara how to check it. The rest will fall into place slowly and with great effort

find an answer, ask here. The compendium of knowledge and experience available here is awesome in the true sense of the word.

This is again an awesome community. Be aware that just about everybody here has an agenda. That agenda is not one bit hidden, and it is to see that
you get to enjoy both what your coach can do for you and the community that it attaches you to as much as we already know and do. We have some truly
amazing stories here, but they are too long and involved to relate here and now. If you happen to pick the correct days to go near Anana (Iowa) on
your way to Arizona, you can here some of them at the international. As the only other community at all like this that I know of is that of the
watermen that are my world, I have take to welcoming new owners much as one might be welcomed there. So,

Bill,

Depending on what's been done to your braking system, you might be right on suspecting some sort of malfunction in the combination valve to be the
brake light issue. Like Johnny suggested, a good brake bleed would be a good place to start by making sure all the air is out of the system. Take a
close look at all the brake components and check to see if anything is wet around the calipers, backing plates, hoses, and line connections.

The steering box is unique to the GMC Motorhome in that it has internal stops, so if you find that it has some slop in it, either get yours rebuilt,
or buy the right box from one of the trusted GMC Vendors. A lot of steering issues can be caused by the steering gear not being centered. There are
several positions the intermediate steering shaft can be installed in, and only one of them is right. As Johnny, again suggested, check the info on
the GMC photo site like this;

Once this is centered up, it will make a world of difference.

that meets during the cooler months, usually having rallies from November to March or April. There is plenty of knowledge to be gained from the

I was born in PA, but have lived in AZ all but 5 years of my life, a short stint from 8th grade through high school. We still go back there every
year to visit relatives, although, due to still working full time jobs, we have not been able to take the time to drive the coach. We are looking
forward to the time, in a few years, when we no longer have to put up with the hassles of flying.

If your combination valve is still iron body, it might be rusted solid. Consider replacing it with the brass body model.

The plunger on the front should move. If frozen, replace it. While your are working with rhe brakes, inspect the hoses. They so break down internally.
Cheap enough to install new lines. Your life is worth it.
