Final Drive

This SLOP is there only when there is no torque on the unit as the short
shaft is on the spider gear.
Once the power is applied, the spider gear will load up and the SLOP will
be taken up.

Keep in mind that this side vibrates more and you need to use loctite fluid
on the 6 bolts as they trd to back off. Always use Blue loctite.

Todd, My shaft don't have that slop, be it the 3.07 FD or the now 3.70 FD. I would think the seal would be worn enough to leak oil.

The output shaft LF has a center bolt. That might be loose. See manual X7525 sec 3C page 2 & 3 Figure 2 & 3.

Check oil level, and if not leaking oil, run it, but keep an eye on it. FWIW

I believe it is leaking, seems wet in that area.

What's involved in changing the seal?

I'll check the bolt.
