Final Drive/Tranny "Seal

Don't want to be a nit-picker, but right is right. Humphrey was in Joe Palooka.
Now having said that, it kinda dates me, huh? Please, no references to my
advances age, huh? har har

I haven;t got my manual handy right now, but I seem to remember that there is a
sleeve that is to be slipped onto the input shaft of the final drive when you are
installing the front pinion bearing retainer, which in also where the final drive
seals are installed. The accompanying article implied that the seal would be
damaged if this sleev was not installed. Just the ramblings of a somewhat
dimished rememberer. .03 For what it's worth

It is amazing..sometimes one can drive for 1,000s of miles and not see
one GMC on the road. Then some days you might see 2 or 3 in a hundred
mile span.
