Phil,
Brent Covey and I feel the same way as you. I spent about 4 hours one
day on the phone talking to everyone who could know or should know the
info you seek. So far, what I have is inconclusive but I know more now
than I did. I know for sure that no one I have talked to so far in San
Diego will work on that final drive, ie; set it up with a new ratio.
I'm not finished yet though.
Richmond does indeed make the gears for C. The runs are in sets of
100 to 150 which puts it a bit out of our (my) range. You would still
need an install kit, (shims etc) and a seal & bearing kit if you did
find the gear sets. I have not talked to the fellow in Texas who sells
the 3.55 setup. (Kanemato??) I don't know where he's getting the parts
to make the setup but I would bet it is Richmond. Brent is looking into
the setup hard, he feels that the gears might be off the shelf as in
Chev or BOP 12-bolt ones. If we get any further I'll pass it on.
BTW, this weekend is the Big 3 swap meet at the stadium. This is a
once a year deal and will be on Sat & Sun. Lots of GMC's there if last
year is any indication. Tons of parts for everything. The entire
stadium will be packed. Great event!

Steve,

PMFJI, but is that the swap meet at Qualcomm that you
mention? If this weather clears up, I might pop down.
