Currently I have a 180F. thermostat along with Digipanel and changed the
sensor in the block. Most recently (Spring)in the south west much of the
time typical readings were :Engine running 160-175F. and tranny at
175-200F. (measured as it came out of the torque con.)This seems rather
cool to me (for engine) and I have almost been ready to put in a 190F.
On the other hand with the poor quality of gas down south and not
wanting to end up with burned valves I've wondered if it's best to keep
it a bit cool running. I tried putting in bigger carbjets but my mileage
went to pot and gas wasn't being burned efficiently, so went back to
original 68's California jetted. I really don't know whats best.Maybe
some one has the answer.
