Arch:

About a month or so ago, I learned about the service from a workmate. My
understanding is that it puts a document out there in electronic format for
one to access. The only disadvantage is that I'm told it is a long distance
call to retrieve anything.

GMCers

I dont know how many of you need fax on the road but here is a site
that would seem to solve some of the problems. I dont know how well
it works yet because I just signed up myself. Check it out.

The long distance call is from where the person sending the fax is...to
someplace in Florida area code (786). With any decent calling plan, that
is 10 cents a minute, which is about what it costs me for intra-state
calls that are not in-town. The speed is within seconds, and the quality
is better than my FAX because I don't have a lazer printer on my FAX.

What they are really selling is the 800 number for 30 bucks a year or so
for now... The 786 number is free for now...

My Fax area code is (801). I think the area code is
going to change acording to your area...Just a guess.
Telcos pay people to bring in long distance calls.
All in all I think this "FREE" fax system could come
in handy while on the road, Or to keep my phoneline
free for internet use,business use.

That is interesting... that is SLC. I'm in Washington, DC and they give
me a (786) in Florida. Where are you Rob, and others.

Bet you're right and we find out that they are a subsidiary of ATT,
Sprint, Quest or the like, that also has excess 800 number capacity.

I just stumbled onto some strange page of theirs (eFAX's) and looking
down at the bottom of my browser, it said "contacting jetfax.com" but
would not load. I guess it could be a Partner of theirs or more.
