Grant, I don't have the answers to your questions but I'm in Toronto at Black Creek Dr. and Weston Rd.
I know Toronto is big. Been here 74 years and 10 months.
Where are you located ?

Grant, I've found CLR good for cleaning off deposits in faucets, etc. Also Rona, Home Depot, Lowes, and Canadian tire carry both waterproof grease and
silicone grease.
I wouldn't consume water from a faucet where you where you used the grease until I was sure no grease was coming out with the water.

Grant,

If you are concerned about the galley tap, don't be. It is standard spacing and a very common thing. Find something less than 40 years old to screw
in there.

Dave,

That is a very interesting comment about the grease in the water system. I never considered this because we never consume water from the GMC water
system. We, including our pets, only drink or prepare food with bottled water in our coach.

I sanitize the water system with bleach every spring but we still never consume water from that system. I also try to fill the system with water from
city treated water systems that contains chlorine. Even with those precautions, this would not take care of grease or oil introduced into the system
after filing it with clean, treated water. Cleaning with bleach only attacks biological issues and not the introduction of foreign substances like
oil and grease.

Thanks for the very good reminder.

I replaced both valve stems and replaced all the O rings in the diverter valve with parts from Home Depot. Simple and inexpensive.

The kitchen faucet is very simple to restore, it uses this standard Moen cartridge Moen 1200 One-Handle Kitchen and......on.com/dp/B0002YQQBG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share"]https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002YQQBG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share]

To Ken B. I thought about the grease because we have a home bathroom with very old faucets
(two handled) for the tub and shower
. The body is brass and the stems are brass. I had to replace the stems and now the taps are very hard to turn on or off. I may shut the water off and
take it all apart and try a touch of the waterproof grease. I don't think I can make it worse than it is.

Did you over tighten the stems?

To Bruce Hart. While I had the tub faucets apart to replace the stems i also replaced the seats. That was a "pain" There's nothing anywhere
on the installed faucets that says the brand. So I shut off the water, made a tool to get 1 seat out and took it to the ""big" box.
How can there be so many choices. Got 2 that looked correct. Installed them and 2 weeks later took it all apart again to replace the torn up washers.
And it goes on and on. TOO much non GMCMH for here.
