I had a fantastic fan installed several years ago in my 1973 GMC, it fit
just fine in the existing opening with no cutting. Attach the wires,
caulk and put the screws in. It moves a lot of air and we are completely
satisfied with it.

Installed my Fantastic Fan two years ago with a protective hood. The only
way to go.

I like the hood because I can keep the fan operating when it is raining
and have circulation of the air.

After I installed it we noticed an odor ( Midnight Pasture perfume) like my
holding tank was leaking. This was noticed when I was in Florida in the
the hot weather without the AC on

When the fan was not operating there was no Midnight Pastue perfume smell.
So I checked outside with no evidence of leaks. I removed the toliet
paper unit and noticed the odor became worse. Looked inside and saw light
coming from around the holding tank vent exit on top of the roof.

Checked the other vent with the same problem. Removed the vent hoods.
Got out the trusty duck tape and sealed both roof vents and odor is no longer.

Believe me if you have any air leaks in the coach--- turn on the fan to
exit and you can feel air coming in from all the openings. Just the like
the name it is fantastic.

I would exercise caution when parking next to an engine that is running and
their exhaust is directed toward your coach. Then if you have the fan
operating in the exit mode it may bring in the unwanted fumes without you
knowing it.

By the way what I found out from a RV dealer that if you use the single ply
toliet tissue it is the same quality that you buy the costly RV tissue. I
have been using it for three years with no problems.
