Don - Fantastaic changed the way the thermostat worked between the
eariler models and the present model. I've had mine for over 8 years
and the thermostat operates the cover. Then, depending if the fan
switch is on or off the fan starts when the cover opens. When the
temperature goes below the thermostat setting, the cover closes and
the fan shuts off if it is in the on position. i also have the rain
sensor that shuts the lid if there is rain.
It is my understanding that the current model has the termostat wired
to turn the motor on and off without closing the top cover. If this
is correct, then if the cover is closed the thermostat does nothing
and you'd have to leave the cover open in storage if you want the
thermostat/fan to help keep the interior cool.
Scott -- you sell these. Do you want to clarify this?
