I got to looking at my fan shroud this evening. It stops just an inch or so
ahead of the fan blades. I would expect it to extend so at least a portion
of the blades are inside. Is this how it was designed or am I missing a
critical piece? Can someone fill me on what the shroud is supposed to look
like? Maybe this explains the vapor lock.
Also my lines from the engine to the hot water have been cut. There were
apparently T's in the heater hoses at some point but they're gone now. Can
somebody explain to me where the original T's were placed?
As it is one of the lines is 5/8 and the other is 3/4. The hose I'm
adapting is all 5/8 so I need a source for the T's. I haven't been to
hardware store to look but I think standard sizes are just 1/2 and 3/4 . I
assume standard plastic pipe fittings will work ok if I get the sizes to
match. Somebody flag me if this isn't correct. Anyway has somebody been
here before that can save me some time?
Also ordered AC hoses and fittings from ACME today. He told me that ACME
had bought out ARA a few years back. Then when I mentioned I was updating a
GMC he told me he was familiar with Cinnabar and Buskirk.
Will appreciate any inputs someone can give me.
Thanks
Dick
