Fan Clutches

It's been a while since I have been up to date on the
GMCnet, and while I'm still not quite there, I couldn't pass
up the opportunity to comment on this subject.

About a year ago, I installed a Hayden 2705 fan clutch. It
NEVER engaged! After listening to this GMCnet, I returned
it for a 2797 fan clutch. This one NEVER disengaged! I
then returned it for the 2747. This one STAYED engaged
until 45 MPH and then slowed to normal.

Finally, I returned the Hayden clutch and purchased a
Cinnabar "normal" duty fan clutch for about $80. It works
perfectly. On occasion, I can hear it speed up a little,
but never the "roar" that startles some new owners.

In summary, I have a cool radiator without the loud roar of
the Hayden fan clutch. If this one doesn't last long, I
will opt for the Cinnabar HD model, which has heavier duty
bearings.

This is what worked for me.
