Don't think we'll have our coach ready for the trek to North Carolina in
the fall but am considering driving another vehicle down just to meet
folks and learning some more things which will prove helpful.

Need some info such as what are the dates of the event (know I have it
somewhere but......), what are the costs for a visitor to register, and
are there any motels in the area which anyone can recommend?

Thanks for the help.

Ralph,

This is the GMCMI Fall Rally to be held in Marion, NC in October. You
need to be a GMCMI member(which means you also need to be a member of
FMCA). They do have an option of attending without a coach. IIRC, the
registration deadline is 9/1. More information is on their web site
www.gmcmi.com(I think - if that's not right, it's on the "resources"
page of my web site). I'm sure they'll be glad to get you signed up as
a member and register you for the rally. You can join FMCA over the
phone; details at www.fmca.org.

>From my experience at the Fall national that was held at Niagara Falls
NY a few years back, you do not have to be a member yet to attend on a
daily basis with no coach. I went and was not an owner yet or a member
of either FMCA or GMCI at the time. Also when I went to the fall rally
in NH last year I drove up without the coach and paid a daily entry fee
and was never asked if I was a GMCI member or not. Check with the
people in charge and I am sure they will not have a problem with some
one attending who is looking at buying or who has just bought a GMC.

If you do have one though you should most defintely join FMCA and GMCI.
The benefits are way more than the price.
