I was puzzled for a long time because it seemed that the pellets would migrate to the heavier part of the rotating tire. Not so.
And they work great.
I just did this for the first time to my brand new front tires. You can feel a little shake when starting up, but before you get very far, they are smooth.

These are pretty common on Jeeps and other trucks with big tires (like 35" or taller). Very difficult to balance, so they add the cetra-matics or Pellets into the tires themselves. I wouldn't think we would need them for the tires on our coaches. They are not all that big...
In a short survey of the wheels and tires both on and off (16.5) Chaumière - All are Firestone Transforce HT(2) - they have between 1.5 & 3.5 ounces of ballast on each. As Equal suggests 4 ounce packages and I used that amount of air gun pellets, that value has to be pretty close to correct. I sure worked for me and I have the rest bagged up for new tires when they come along.
